When the thunder rolls...

I recently was invited by my friend Josh to attend Celtic Thunder. At least, I hope it is Celtic Thunder, kinda like this:

I fear the alternate type of thunder. Please, don't let it be the Thunder from Down Under:

The Celtic Thunder show is neither of the alternatives you present. Instead, it is a wonderful and synergistic blend of Las Vegas glitz, combined with the glamor of a Broadway musical, and the professional caliber singing and staging of an Italian opera, blended with the quality lyrics of a Shakespearian play, placed in a setting of genuine Celtic scenery complete with 100% Celtic musicians, instruments, costuming, lighting, and staging.

I guarantee you will be totally pleased with the value you will receive, as I saw the show a couple of weeks ago, and can loudly proclaim it is the best show I have ever seen in my life, and I’ve been to PLENTY.

You sound like a macho guy, not prone to emotional outbursts. Be sure to bring plenty of handkerchiefs anyway, because I’ve got to warn you, the show is jam packet with gut-wrenching emotion, and several tear-jerker songs, as well as some that will cause you to proclaim “I told you so.” If there is a woman in your life, this is the show to bring her to if you want her to think you have lots of sensitivity, because she'll be crying along with you, and think your're such a great guy for understanding why.

It's hard not to cry when you witness a grown man singing of the death of his father while on his knees, or trying to find words to tell his son for the breakdown of his parent's marriage, or singing of the makings of his marriage and beginnings of his family in nautical terms akin to the assembling a "crew" of sailors. Without being mushy, this show strikes at the chords of humanity.

The most beautiful Irish dancer from the show you pictured is also there, adding her feminine charms to the mix.

But best of all is the tremendous singing and harmonies, the ballads, and the mix of music. Half the songs are traditional Irish standards or written by a vocalist or the show’s Music Director, Phil Coulter, whose genuine Irish credentials need no defense — simply check out the more than 100 silver, gold, and platinum discs hanging on his wall. And he has composed the orchestral arrangements for every one of the songs you will hear.
For those looking for authentic Celtic costuming, you will find the requisite kilts and an occasional bagpipe and whistle to complement the custom made thunderous dueling drum-rolls mixed in with digital recordings of an actual Irish thunderstorm. This is the aspect of the show you will enjoy most, coupled with the talented violinists and cellist, or the equally talented Celtic Thunder Band which backs up the five, extremely gifted vocalists.

Celtic Thunder is taking America by storm, in much the same fashion as the Beatles did, when they invaded America in the 1960s, only Celtic Thunder is BETTER. I promise.
